FirstLight is a population and community modelling engine that reconstructs the joint structure of people and places from fragmented Census and administrative data.
Most data products show isolated indicators — how many people are old, how many rent, how many drive to work. FirstLight shows combinations: older renters on low income, families in small dwellings under housing stress, recent migrants with qualifications but low workforce participation.
It classifies every neighbourhood into one of 50 community types (tribes), compares places by structural similarity rather than arbitrary boundaries, and detects where multiple pressures overlap to create real policy or market pressure.
